The Greatness and Spirituality of Maha Periyavaa is once
again glorified in yet another incident similar to the "வீதி உட்சவம்" (VEEDHI
UTSAVAM) observed to Sri Subramania Sastrigal at the time of His attaining " Aapath Sanyasam".
In the year 1939, when Maha Periyavaa was camping at Siddhamalli,
a Vyshnavite from Perugazhandan came and had Darshan and prayed to Maha Periyavaa that his end from this World should be
similar as was done in the case of Sri Subramania
Sastrigal(Yatheendraal). On hearing this, Maha Periyavaa laughed and Blessed the Vyshnavite and declared in no uncertain terms..."YOU WILL DEFINTELY BE GIVEN VEEDHI UTSAVAM
IN THE SAME MANNER" !!
In 1949, the Vyshnavite, died of a heart attack on the
day of Avani Avittam. As per the Blessings of the Maha Periyavaa for the Vyshnavite, all the houses were decorated with Mavilai,
Ezhai Kolam, Kaavi Pattai and Special Sappadu (food) with Vadai, Paayasam etc was asked to be prepared and served to one and
all in the Siddhamalli village. The Agraharam people arranged for the cremation in a grand scale on the same day and
then started Avani Avittam at Thevar Kulam near the Samadhi. Thus the Devotee's desire was at last fulfulled !!
Maha Periyavaa named the Vyshnavite as " ALANGARA BOOTHAM"
(அலங்கார பூதம்) because he was like a true Vyshnavite,
having Dwadasa Namams in his body! Such is the SPIRITUALITY OF HH MAHA PERIYAVAA..!!
